Three great online games reviewed
In the world of online gaming, there are literally thousands of different choices to keep you occupied. A lot of these games require a monthly subscription, and require several hundred hours of dedicated game play.
However, there are many alternatives to the paid games which don’t require money at all. Free online web based games have evolved into mini epics, and can provide hours of lasting fun. With thousands of available free online games, there are a few that definitely stand out among the rest, and the following list will briefly talk about some of the ones that will provide you the most fun and excitement.
1. Bowmaster Prelude – A very involved “capture the flag” based game, Bowmaster Prelude will allow you to pit your skills against masses of enemy soldiers. Call upon your knights, archers, and foot soldiers to take the enemy flag and tear down their castle. Bowmaster Prelude is a fantastic online game created by Lost Vectors. They obviously know the art of creating addictive games, because for being a 2D semi-old school game, Bowmaster Prelude will keep you occupied for hours on top of hours. Bring a thermos of coffee, you’re gonna need it!
2. Desktop Tower Defense – Having spawned an occult following, Desktop Defense is one of the most fun online strategy games by far. The key objective of this online game is to purchase and upgrade different tower fortifications to kill off all the “creeps” (little blobs) that are furiously trying to get through your base and escape. The replayability factor of this game is unheard of, and after only playing a few times, you’ll know what I’m talking about. This game has thousands (if not more) of followers, and offers a variety of different game modes to keep you interested for a long time to come. It won’t take long before you find a strategy that works for you, but constant revisions will have to be made, as the creeps get stronger every level.
3. The Last Stand – While some might argue that The Last Stand doesn’t deserve to be in the same ranks of Desktop Tower Defense and Bowmaster, this game, developed by Con Artists Productions, is just as addictive as the others, if not more. The crazy part about The Last Stand is that it’s a very simplistic and non-unique game, but still unbelievably fun! One aspect that attributes to the replay value is the sound effects and stupidly funny zombie characters. Each weapon sounds exactly like it should sound, and although the waves of zombies don’t change in appearance much, they are all funny – from the fat cops to the large grandmas. There is a certain amount of sick enjoyment when you blast someone’s grandma away with your pump action shotgun. Don’t ask until you try it for yourself, you’ll see what I mean!
There are many more free online games to choose from, as a matter of fact there are thousands. But this short list of great games should keep you occupied for quite some time. I’d love to see a part two for each of the games listed above. Hats off to their respective
